- Oversee the daily operations of the sterile processing department, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain the highest level of quality and safety for all sterilized equipment and instruments.
- Train and supervise a team of sterile processing technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure they are following proper protocols and techniques.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sterile equipment and instruments for patient care.
- Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies to maintain an adequate stock of sterile equipment and instruments.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Keep up to date with new developments and advancements in sterile processing techniques and equipment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure timely delivery of necessary materials.
- Create and maintain reports detailing department performance and any areas for improvement.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among staff members.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Management, Or A Related Field.
Certification As A Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt).
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within A Sterile Processing Department, Preferably In A Large Healthcare System.
Strong Understanding Of Sterile Processing Best Practices, Standards, And Regulations, Including Aami, Cdc, And Joint Commission Guidelines.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Lead And Collaborate With A Diverse Team Of Sterile Processing Staff And Other Healthcare Professionals.
