  1. Monitor and analyze cardiac rhythms for patients in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Communicate with healthcare team regarding changes in patient's cardiac status.
  3. Perform electrocardiogram (EKG) testing and accurately document results.
  4. Recognize and report any abnormal cardiac rhythms or potential cardiac events.
  5. Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of cardiac monitoring equipment.
  6. Collaborate with nurses and physicians to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  7. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  8. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during cardiac monitoring procedures.
  9. Stay up-to-date on current cardiac monitoring technology and procedures.
  10. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  11. Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  13. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all cardiac monitoring activities.
  14. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and compassion towards patients and their families.
  15. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  16. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  17. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and educational sessions.
  18. Display excellent critical thinking skills in identifying and resolving issues related to cardiac monitoring.
  19. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  20. Continuously strive to improve the quality of patient care and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Cardiac Monitor Technician / Telemetry Job At Emory Healthcare Requires A Valid Certification In Cardiac Monitoring Or Telemetry, Such As A Certified Cardiographic Technician (Cct) Or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (Crat).

  • Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cardiac Monitor Technician Or In A Similar Role. This Experience Should Include Proficiency In Using Various Cardiac Monitoring Equipment And Interpreting Cardiac Rhythms.

  • Knowledge Of Ekg Interpretation: A Strong Understanding Of Ekg Interpretation Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Be Able To Accurately Interpret And Report On Cardiac Rhythms, As Well As Identify Any Abnormalities Or Changes.

  • Attention To Detail: The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Crucial In This Role, As Cardiac Monitor Technicians Are Responsible For Closely Monitoring Patients' Cardiac Rhythms And Promptly Reporting Any Changes Or Abnormalities.

  • Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In This Role As Cardiac Monitor Technicians Work Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals, Including Nurses, Physicians, And Other Technicians. Candidates Should Have Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Accurately Report On Cardiac Rhythms And Collaborate With The Healthcare Team.
