- Provide compassionate and dedicated nursing care to breast and gynecology cancer patients, taking into consideration their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
- Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, based on their specific cancer diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Monitor and assess patient responses to treatments and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families on the disease process, treatment options, and self-care techniques to promote optimal outcomes.
- Advocate for patients’ rights and preferences, ensuring that their needs are met and their voices are heard.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation, adhering to HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Utilize evidence-based practice and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with community resources and support groups to provide patients with additional resources and support.
- Maintain a safe and clean patient care environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in oncology nursing.
- Adhere to Emory Healthcare’s mission, vision, and values, and maintain a professional and positive attitude in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing And Current Rn Licensure In The State Of Georgia.
At Least Two Years Of Experience In Oncology Nursing, With A Focus On Breast And Gynecology Oncology.
Certification In Oncology Nursing (Ocn) Or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (Aocnp) Preferred.
Strong Knowledge Of Current Evidence-Based Practices And Treatment Modalities For Breast And Gynecology Cancers.
Ability To Provide Compassionate And Comprehensive Care To Patients And Families Facing The Challenges Of Cancer Treatment And Survivorship.
