  1. Conduct thorough research and analysis of patent laws, regulations, and guidelines to ensure compliance and protection of company's intellectual property.
  2. Draft and file high-quality patent applications and responses to office actions with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and protect inventions and innovations in various stages of research and development.
  4. Work closely with inventors and scientists to understand and accurately describe the technical aspects of their discoveries to support patent prosecution.
  5. Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and provide strategic advice to support decision-making on product development and commercialization.
  6. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in patent laws and regulations to provide timely and accurate advice to the company.
  7. Prepare and manage patent portfolios, including drafting and filing of assignments, maintenance fees, and annuities.
  8. Assist with due diligence activities and provide support for licensing and partnership agreements involving intellectual property.
  9. Communicate and coordinate with external patent counsel to ensure efficient and effective management of patent applications and portfolios.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
  11. Participate in training and development programs to continuously improve knowledge and skills in patent law and the pharmaceutical industry.
  12. Represent the company in patent-related matters, including patent office hearings and appeals, as needed.
  13. Proactively identify and resolve potential patent issues and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
  14. Adhere to company policies and procedures and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
  15. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Patent Attorney or other members of the legal team.

Job Qualifications
  • A Degree In A Relevant Field, Such As Law Or Engineering, From An Accredited University.

  • A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Registered Patent Agent, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotechnology Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Patent Laws And Regulations, Including The Ability To Conduct Thorough Patent Searches And Draft Patent Applications.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Clients.

  • A Track Record Of Successfully Prosecuting Patents And Managing Patent Portfolios, Including Experience With Patent Litigation And Patent Strategy Development.
