- Conduct thorough patent searches and analyses to assess the novelty and patentability of new inventions and technologies.
- Draft and prosecute patent applications in accordance with the latest USPTO rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and other team members to identify and protect valuable intellectual property.
- Monitor and manage patent portfolios, including conducting patent landscape analyses and developing strategies for patent prosecution and maintenance.
- Conduct due diligence and provide legal opinions on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement issues.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in patent laws and regulations, as well as industry trends and developments in the pharmaceutical field.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of patent applications, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Advise and educate colleagues on intellectual property matters, including patent laws, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in meetings with cross-functional teams to discuss potential inventions and provide guidance on patent protection strategies.
- Adhere to strict ethical and professional standards in all aspects of the job, including maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Represent the company in patent-related matters, including communicating with patent examiners and attending hearings or trials.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of responses to office actions, appeals, and other patent-related documents.
- Collaborate with outside counsel, as needed, to manage patent litigation and other legal proceedings.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of company-wide patent policies and procedures.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve patent processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field, Such As Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Or Law.
Registered As A Patent Agent With The United States Patent And Trademark Office (Uspto).
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Preparing And Prosecuting Patent Applications, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotechnology Industry.
Strong Knowledge Of Patent Laws And Regulations, Both Domestically And Internationally.
Excellent Communication And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Inventors, Attorneys, And Other Stakeholders.
