Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Re-Authorization Representative - Specialty Pharmacy to join our team at Elevance Health. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring our patients receive the treatment they need in a timely manner. The Re-Authorization Representative will be responsible for working closely with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to obtain prior authorization for medications and services.Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated ability to work independently and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They should also have a working knowledge of specialty pharmacy and insurance authorization processes, as well as an understanding of medical terminology. The successful Re-Authorization Representative will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities:

  1. Contact patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to obtain prior authorization for medications and services.
  2. Develop a working knowledge of specialty pharmacy and insurance authorization processes.
  3. Utilize medical terminology in conversations with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  4. Manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
  5. Ensure patient needs are met in a timely manner.
  6. Maintain detailed records of all interactions with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  7. Provide support to other team members as needed.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise in the re-authorization process.
  9. Stay up to date on all regulations and policies related to re-authorization.
  10. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective communication.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Or Equivalent Experience

  • At Least Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Related Role

  • Knowledge Of Pharmacy Operations And Regulations

  • Knowledge Of Specialty Pharmacy Products And Services

  • Proficiency With Microsoft Office Suite.
