Job Description

Elevance Health is looking for an experienced and passionate Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. We are a specialty pharmacy that provides medication therapy management programs and services to patients with chronic conditions. Our mission is to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care and treatment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the prior authorization process for our patients. You must be organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication and customer service skills.To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a related field, at least two years of prior authorization experience in a pharmacy setting, and strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and insurance policies. You should also be highly organized, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and be able to work under pressure. Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the prior authorization process for Elevance Health patients.
  2. Ensure that patients receive the best possible care and treatment.
  3. Maintain knowledge of pharmacy regulations and insurance policies.
  4. Respond to patient and provider inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  5. Document all prior authorization activities in accordance with company policies.
  6. Monitor and evaluate prior authorization activities to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  7. Work with internal departments and external providers to resolve any prior authorization issues.
  8. Identify and communicate process improvement opportunities.
  9. Provide training and guidance to new team members.
  10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and changes in the pharmacy industry.
