
Government Relations Director

- Develop and implement strategies to influence government policies and regulations related to healthcare.
- Stay up-to-date on current and proposed legislation, regulations, and policies that may impact the organization and the healthcare industry.
- Build and maintain relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders to advocate for Elevance Health's interests.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand the organization's goals and priorities and align government relations strategies accordingly.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments and provide timely updates and recommendations to the leadership team.
- Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and other forums to discuss and promote policies and positions.
- Prepare and deliver effective presentations and written materials to convey the organization's viewpoints and influence decision-making.
- Work closely with external partners, including industry associations and coalitions, to advance common goals and initiatives.
- Keep track of government relations budget and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Regularly report on government relations activities and progress to the leadership team.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in government relations and make recommendations for improvement and innovation.
- Lead and mentor a team of government relations professionals.
- Maintain a positive and professional image of the organization in all interactions with government officials and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in government relations activities.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of government relations strategies and make adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Political Science, Public Policy, Or A Related Field.
At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Government Relations, Lobbying, Or Public Policy At The State Or Federal Level.
Strong Understanding Of Healthcare Policy And Legislation, Particularly In Areas Relevant To Elevance Health's Industry.
Proven Track Record Of Building And Maintaining Relationships With Government Officials And Stakeholders.
Excellent Communication And Advocacy Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Convey Complex Policy Issues To Diverse Audiences.
