They will have a strong technical background and will be comfortable working with a wide range of technologies. To be successful in this role, the individual must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, a minimum of 8 years of experience in automation, and experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA software. It is also important that this individual possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment.The ideal Principal Automation Engineer at Edwards Lifesciences will be a creative thinker with an eye for detail and a passion for automation. Responsibilities of the Principal Automation Engineer:

Design, develop, and test automation systems that meet Edwards Lifesciences' product standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automation technologies and best practices.
Develop and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
Monitor performance of automation systems and identify areas of improvement.
Liaise with other teams to ensure successful integration of automation systems into existing products.
Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop solutions that meet customer needs.
Ensure that all automation systems adhere to industry and safety regulations.
Provide technical support and training to other team members.
Maintain accurate records of automation systems and processes.
Identify and implement strategies for cost reduction and improvement.
