  1. Develop and implement advanced GIS solutions to support Edison International's energy projects and initiatives.
  2. Serve as the subject matter expert for GIS technology and provide guidance and support to other team members.
  3. Collaborate with various departments within the organization to identify GIS needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  4. Conduct thorough analyses of spatial data to inform decision-making processes.
  5. Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date GIS databases and maps.
  6. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to GIS data, software, and applications.
  7. Stay current on industry trends and advancements in GIS technology and make recommendations for implementation within the organization.
  8. Lead training sessions and workshops to educate colleagues on GIS best practices and utilization.
  9. Communicate complex GIS concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to GIS data and applications.
  11. Participate in cross-functional teams to support and enhance GIS integration with other systems.
  12. Continuously assess and improve GIS processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners and vendors to support GIS initiatives.
  14. Mentor and provide guidance to junior GIS team members.
  15. Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes by providing GIS expertise and insights.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Gis Experience: A Senior Gis Specialist Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working With Gis Software And Tools. This Includes Proficiency In Arcgis, Qgis, And Other Relevant Programs.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: A Senior Gis Specialist Should Have Excellent Problem-Solving And Critical Thinking Skills To Effectively Analyze Complex Data And Identify Patterns And Trends.

  • Project Management Experience: This Role Requires The Ability To Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously And Ensure That All Tasks Are Completed On Time And Within Budget. Previous Project Management Experience Is A Must.

  • Knowledge Of Utility Industry: A Senior Gis Specialist At Edison International Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Utility Industry, Including The Distribution And Transmission Of Electricity, And How Gis Technology Can Be Applied In This Context.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Senior Gis Specialist, Effective Communication And Teamwork Are Essential For Collaborating With Colleagues, Managers, And Clients. This Includes The Ability To Clearly Convey Technical Information To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
