Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern

Reverse engineer and 3D model a variety of process tanks included in the C1 and C2 lithographic printing plate process lines. Learn to use the AutoDESK CFD program (Computational Fluid Dynamics Simulation Software) with the guidance of the mechanical engineering staff to analyze temperature gradients and non-uniform flow through the modeled process tanks. Confirm static pressure and flow rate results of the CFD simulations using Bernoulli’s Principle. Document all relevant parameterization and assumptions used for analysis. Work closely with the process engineering staff to define potential improvement projects using CFD findings. Include the rate of “return on investment” for the respective projects. Safely work in a manufacturing facility per required safety training at start of internship. Work with the Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, and CFD.
