Job Description

The Behavior Specialist’s primary role involves providing Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Positive Behavior Support Plans. The Behavior Specialist will assess an individual and develop a complete plan outlining support strategies to address specific target behaviors. The Behavior Specialist will be responsible for training school staff on all aspects of the support plan and providing on-going consultation around implementation of plans and monitoring of behavioral interventions. This position works closely with IEP teams and completion of related IEP paperwork. The Behavior Specialist will provide leadership to our school programs for behavior management by advising therapeutic/teaching staff in implementation of behavior plans and offering relevant training. A commitment to serving individuals with severely challenging behaviors in the school setting is essential as well as a strong background in serving students with autism and neurological impairments.

Job Qualifications
  • Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) experience preferred

  • Experience in a school-based and early childhood settings preferred

  • CPR/First aide certification preferred

  • Prior crisis prevention/intervention training preferred.
