-Develop and implement security protocols and measures for mainframe systems to protect against potential cyber threats. -Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address any security gaps. -Monitor mainframe system activity and investigate any suspicious or unauthorized access. -Stay up-to-date on the latest security trends and technologies, and make recommendations for improvement. -Collaborate with other security team members to create and maintain a secure network infrastructure. -Create and maintain documentation of security procedures and protocols for mainframe systems. -Communicate security risks and vulnerabilities to stakeholders and provide recommendations for mitigation. -Participate in incident response and recovery efforts in the event of a security breach. -Train and educate other team members on mainframe security best practices and procedures. -Work with vendors and external partners to ensure the security of any third-party applications or systems integrated with the mainframe. -Stay compliant with industry regulations and standards related to mainframe security. -Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and emergency response.
Extensive Experience In Mainframe Security Engineering: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Designing, Implementing, And Maintaining Security Controls For Mainframe Systems. They Should Be Well-Versed In Mainframe Operating Systems Such As Z/Os, Z/Vm, And Z/Vse.
Strong Knowledge Of Security Protocols And Standards: Candidates Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Security Protocols Such As Ssl/Tls, Ssh, And Sftp, As Well As Security Standards Like Iso 27001 And Nist. They Should Also Be Familiar With Mainframe-Specific Security Protocols Like Racf And Acf2.
Proficiency In Mainframe Security Tools: Candidates Should Have Hands-On Experience With Mainframe Security Tools Such As Ca Top Secret, Ibm Resource Access Control Facility (Racf), And Acf2. They Should Also Be Proficient In Scripting Languages Like Jcl And Rexx.
Ability To Design And Implement Security Solutions: Candidates Should Have A Track Record Of Successfully Designing And Implementing Security Solutions For Mainframe Environments. They Should Be Able To Analyze Security Risks And Develop Strategies To Mitigate Them.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Security Engineer, The Candidate Will Be Required To Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Developers, System Administrators, And Business Stakeholders. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Effectively Collaborating With These Teams To Ensure The Security Of Mainframe Systems.
