1. Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff to the hospital and specifically to the surgical unit.
2. Assist patients with checking in and registering for their surgeries, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently.
3. Ensure patient comfort and satisfaction by addressing any concerns or questions they may have and providing them with timely updates throughout their stay.
4. Prepare operating rooms and equipment prior to surgeries, making sure all necessary supplies and instruments are available and in working order.
5. Assist surgical team with prepping patients for surgery, including positioning and draping as directed by surgeons.
6. Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterilized and properly stored.
7. Transport patients to and from operating rooms and other areas of the hospital as needed.
8. Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any significant changes to healthcare team.
9. Assist with post-operative care, including monitoring and documenting patient recovery, changing dressings, and providing comfort measures.
10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control protocols.
11. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
