- Oversee all human resources functions for the university, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and policy implementation.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and university policies and regulations related to human resources.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote a positive and inclusive work culture.
- Collaborate with department heads and managers to address and resolve employee relations issues.
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee complaints and concerns.
- Advise and assist managers with employee performance evaluations and goal setting.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and trends to continuously improve HR processes and procedures.
- Assist with the development and implementation of employee development and training programs.
- Manage and maintain employee records and confidential information in compliance with university policies and legal requirements.
- Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and candidate interviews.
- Play a key role in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth and positive transition into the university.
- Collaborate with other HR team members to ensure consistency and efficiency in HR processes and procedures.
- Participate in university-wide initiatives and projects related to human resources.
- Act as a representative of Duke University and uphold its values and mission in all interactions with employees and external partners.
Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources, Business Administration, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Human Resources Role, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal And State Employment Laws, Including Ada, Fmla, And Eeo Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders.
Experience With Hr Information Systems And Proficiency In Microsoft Office Suite.
