- Utilize expert knowledge and skills to accurately and efficiently prepare and dispense medication to patients under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Follow all hospital and pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure the safe and effective delivery of medication.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all medication transactions and patient information.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper patient care and medication management.
- Monitor medication inventory levels and assist in placing orders to ensure an adequate supply is maintained at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding their medication.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in the handling and dispensing of medication.
- Communicate effectively with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medication.
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all patient interactions and record keeping.
- Take on additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by pharmacy management.
- Embrace a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing ways to enhance pharmacy operations and patient care.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) With At Least 3 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.
Extensive Knowledge Of Medication Management And Dispensing Procedures, Including Compounding And Iv Preparations.
Proficiency In Using Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems And Medication Management Software.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced, Team-Oriented Environment.
Familiarity With Duke University Health System Policies And Procedures, As Well As State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Pharmacy Operations.
