- Develop and implement personalized fitness plans for clients based on their individual goals and needs.
- Conduct fitness assessments and track progress of clients through regular check-ins and evaluations.
- Provide guidance and support to clients on proper form and technique during workouts.
- Demonstrate and educate clients on the safe and effective use of various gym equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workout space for clients.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and research to ensure the most current and effective training methods are being utilized.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all clients, regardless of their fitness level or background.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and make necessary adjustments to their fitness plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with clients.
- Collaborate with other fitness staff and trainers to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols in the gym.
- Promote and uphold the values and mission of Duke University.
- Continuously strive to improve and enhance the fitness program at Duke University.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and attendance.
- Provide excellent customer service to all clients, addressing any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Act as a role model for healthy living and be knowledgeable about nutrition and wellness.
- Assist with marketing and promoting the fitness program at Duke University.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate clients' needs and availability.
- Stay organized and manage time effectively to ensure all clients receive the best possible training experience.
Certification From A Nationally Recognized Organization, Such As The American Council On Exercise (Ace) Or National Academy Of Sports Medicine (Nasm).
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Personal Training, Preferably In A University Or Fitness Center Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Exercise Physiology, Anatomy, And Nutrition.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Work With Diverse Populations.
Availability To Work Flexible Hours, Including Evenings And Weekends, To Accommodate The Schedules Of Clients.
