  1. Provide exceptional patient care: As an Ophthalmic Assistant, Certified, your main responsibility will be to provide exceptional care to our patients. This includes assisting with eye exams, performing diagnostic tests, and educating patients on proper eye care.
  2. Work alongside ophthalmologists: You will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented and experienced ophthalmologists in the field. This will involve assisting them during procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  3. Maintain a high level of professionalism: We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual who can maintain a high level of professionalism at all times. This includes following all protocols and procedures, maintaining patient confidentiality, and representing our center in a positive manner.
  4. Perform diagnostic tests: In this role, you will be responsible for performing various diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and retinal imaging. You will need to have a strong attention to detail and be able to accurately record and report test results.
  5. Assist with administrative tasks: In addition to clinical duties, you will also be responsible for assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and verifying insurance information.
  6. Uphold safety standards: The safety of our patients is of utmost importance, and as an Ophthalmic Assistant, Certified, you will be responsible for upholding safety standards in the workplace. This includes following proper infection control procedures and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Continuously learn and develop skills: As part of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to continuously learn and develop your skills. This may include attending training sessions, conferences, and workshops to stay updated on the latest techniques and technologies in eye care.
  8. Communicate effectively: You will be required to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and superiors. This includes providing clear and thorough instructions, explaining procedures and test results, and addressing any concerns or questions.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Ophthalmic Assisting: The Candidate Should Have A Valid Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel In Ophthalmology (Jcahpo) Or The American Academy Of Ophthalmology (Aao).

  • Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Ophthalmic Procedures, Including Patient Assessment, Diagnostic Testing, And Administration Of Medications.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: Previous Experience Working In An Ophthalmology Clinic Or Hospital Setting Is Preferred. This Includes Hands-On Experience With Equipment And Instruments Used In Eye Exams And Surgeries.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Interact Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail: Ophthalmic Assistants Must Have Strong Attention To Detail To Accurately Record Patient Information, Perform Tests And Procedures, And Handle Delicate Instruments And Equipment. The Ability To Follow Precise Instructions And Maintain A High Level Of Accuracy Is Crucial In This Role.
