Welcome, future Nicholas School intern! We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic NONDUKE student to join our dynamic team at Duke University. As an intern with the Nicholas School, you will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience and make a meaningful impact on our organization. We are looking for a proactive and driven individual who is eager to learn and contribute to our mission of creating positive change in the world.   1. Greet and welcome visitors to the Nicholas School with a positive and professional attitude.
  2. Assist in the recruitment and selection process for NONDUKE students to join the internship program.
  3. Collaborate with team members to develop and implement strategies to attract top talent.
  4. Conduct interviews and make recommendations for intern candidates.
  5. Provide orientation and onboarding for new interns, ensuring they are familiar with the organization's mission, values, and policies.
  6. Assign tasks and projects to interns, providing clear instructions and setting expectations for quality and timeliness.
  7. Monitor and evaluate intern performance, providing feedback and support as needed.
  8. Facilitate communication and coordination between interns and other team members.
  9. Plan and coordinate intern events and activities to enhance their experience and promote team building.
  10. Act as a mentor and resource for interns, offering guidance and support for their personal and professional development.
  11. Maintain accurate records of intern activities, hours, and performance evaluations.
  12. Contribute to the overall success of the Nicholas School by actively participating in team meetings and offering ideas for improvement.
  13. Stay updated on industry trends and developments related to environmental conservation to provide valuable insights and ideas to the team.
  14. Adhere to all organization policies and procedures, including those related to safety, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
  15. Represent the Nicholas School in a positive and professional manner at all times, both internally and externally.

About Duke University

Duke University is a private research university in Durham, North Carolina. Founded by Methodists and Quakers in the present-day town of Trinity in 1838, the school moved to Durham in 1892. In 1924, tobacco and electric power industrialist James Buchanan Duke established The Duke Endowment and the institution changed its name to honor his deceased father, Washington Duke. Duke's campus spans over 8,600 acres (3,500 hectares) on three contiguous sub-campuses in Durham as well as a marine lab in Beaufort.
