- Perform proper decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Inspect and assemble surgical instrument trays and sets to ensure completeness and functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization and processing activities, including tracking of inventory and expiration dates.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Collaborate with surgical and clinical staff to ensure timely availability of instruments and equipment for procedures.
- Proactively identify and report any equipment malfunctions or deficiencies to the appropriate department.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new team members on sterile processing procedures and protocols.
