Bilingual Proficiency In English And Spanish, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Medical Terminology Accurately And Effectively.
Knowledge Of Medical Procedures, Terminology, And Protocols, Gained Through Formal Education And/Or Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, Including The Ability To Establish Rapport With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Familiarity With Cultural Nuances And Sensitivity To Diverse Backgrounds, In Order To Facilitate Understanding And Build Trust Between Patients And Providers.
Certification As A Medical Interpreter From A Recognized Institution, Such As The National Board Of Certification For Medical Interpreters (Nbcmi) Or The Certification Commission For Healthcare Interpreters (Cchi).
