  1. Conduct laboratory experiments and procedures under the direction of senior researchers.
  2. Collect and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  3. Maintain precise records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
  4. Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement research projects.
  6. Stay updated on the latest advancements and techniques in the field, and make recommendations for incorporating them into current research.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  8. Prepare and present reports, summaries, and findings to team members and senior researchers.
  9. Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and research publications.
  10. Contribute to the development and improvement of laboratory protocols and procedures.
  11. Train and supervise new laboratory personnel.
  12. Attend and participate in relevant conferences and seminars.
  13. Maintain and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
  14. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to acquire necessary materials and equipment for research projects.
  15. Uphold the values and standards of Duke University in all research activities.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field, Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Biochemistry.

  • Prior Experience Working In A Laboratory Setting, Including Familiarity With Common Techniques And Equipment.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Accurately Record And Analyze Data.

  • Proficiency In Computer Skills, Including Microsoft Office And Data Analysis Software.

About Duke University

Duke University is a private research university in Durham, North Carolina. Founded by Methodists and Quakers in the present-day town of Trinity in 1838, the school moved to Durham in 1892. In 1924, tobacco and electric power industrialist James Buchanan Duke established The Duke Endowment and the institution changed its name to honor his deceased father, Washington Duke. Duke's campus spans over 8,600 acres (3,500 hectares) on three contiguous sub-campuses in Durham as well as a marine lab in Beaufort.
