
Inpatient Phlebotomy - Every Other Weekend - First Shift

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Inpatient Phlebotomist to join our team on a part-time basis, working every other weekend on the first shift. In this role, you will play a crucial role in our patient care by performing phlebotomy procedures accurately and efficiently. - Conduct phlebotomy procedures on inpatient units using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Accurately label and process specimens according to established protocols.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate any fears or concerns.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate collection of specimens.
- Maintain accurate records and document all procedures performed.
- Monitor patient condition and report any adverse reactions or complications to the appropriate medical staff.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, restocking as needed.
- Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Continuously strive for accuracy and efficiency in all phlebotomy procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive experience.
- Attend department meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new techniques and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Certification: The Candidate Should Possess A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Institution Or Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting Is Required For This Position. Previous Experience In Inpatient Phlebotomy Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Be Able To Accurately Identify And Label Specimens.
Attention To Detail: Inpatient Phlebotomy Requires A High Level Of Precision And Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate Labeling And Handling Of Specimens. The Candidate Should Be Able To Demonstrate Their Ability To Perform Tasks With A High Level Of Accuracy.
Flexibility And Availability: This Position Requires The Candidate To Work Every Other Weekend On The First Shift, So The Candidate Should Have A Flexible Schedule And Be Available To Work Weekends And Holidays As Needed. They Should Also Be Able To Adapt To Changing Schedules And Prioritize Tasks Effectively.
