Inpatient Phlebotomy - Every Other Weekend - First Shift

1. Conduct phlebotomy procedures on inpatient units using appropriate techniques and equipment.
2. Accurately label and process specimens according to established protocols.
3. Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
4. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate any fears or concerns.
5. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate collection of specimens.
6. Maintain accurate records and document all procedures performed.
7. Monitor patient condition and report any adverse reactions or complications to the appropriate medical staff.
8. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, restocking as needed.
9. Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
10. Continuously strive for accuracy and efficiency in all phlebotomy procedures.
11. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive experience.
12. Attend department meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new techniques and procedures.
13. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
14. Keep work area clean and organized.
