As an HVAC Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our campus by maintaining and repairing our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.   1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the Duke Raleigh campus.
  2. Conduct thorough inspections of HVAC systems to identify any potential issues and make necessary repairs or replacements.
  3. Troubleshoot and diagnose complex HVAC problems and develop effective solutions to resolve them.
  4. Monitor and maintain proper functioning of all HVAC equipment, including but not limited to, air handlers, chillers, boilers, and pumps.
  5. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance and repairs.
  6. Keep accurate records of all work performed, including maintenance schedules, repair logs, and equipment inventory.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and contractors to coordinate repairs and installations, as well as to ensure efficient use of resources.
  8. Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices, and implement them when appropriate.
  9. Respond promptly to emergency calls and work efficiently to resolve urgent HVAC issues.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, and properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification/License: A Valid Certification Or License As An Hvac Mechanic Is Essential For This Role. This Ensures That The Individual Has Received Proper Training And Has Met The Necessary Requirements To Perform The Job Safely And Effectively.

  • Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As An Hvac Mechanic. This Experience Should Include Installation, Maintenance, And Repair Of Various Hvac Systems.

  • Knowledge Of Hvac Systems: The Candidate Should Possess In-Depth Knowledge Of Different Types Of Hvac Systems, Including But Not Limited To, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, And Refrigeration. They Should Also Be Familiar With Various Types Of Equipment, Tools, And Materials Used In The Hvac Industry.

  • Technical Skills: A Hvac Mechanic Should Have Strong Technical Skills To Troubleshoot, Diagnose, And Repair Hvac Systems. They Should Be Able To Read And Interpret Blueprints, Schematics, And Technical Manuals. Proficiency In Using Specialized Tools And Equipment Is Also Required.

  • Physical Stamina: The Job Of An Hvac Mechanic Involves Working In Various Environments, Including Confined Spaces And At Heights. The Candidate Should Have The Physical Stamina And Strength To Perform Tasks Such As Lifting Heavy Equipment, Crawling, And Standing For Long Periods. They Should Also Have The Ability To Work In Varying Weather Conditions.
