- Manage and oversee all immigration processes for the university, including visa applications, renewals, and extensions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable immigration laws and regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for international faculty, staff, and students regarding immigration-related inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all immigration documents and processes.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to facilitate smooth immigration processes for international employees and students.
- Stay informed about changes in immigration laws and regulations, and update university policies and procedures accordingly.
- Conduct trainings and workshops to educate faculty, staff, and students on immigration-related matters.
- Work closely with the Office of General Counsel to provide guidance and support on immigration issues.
- Provide excellent customer service to all individuals involved in the immigration process.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive immigration matters with discretion.
- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of international employees.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all international members of the Duke community.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the HR Director.
Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources Management Or A Related Field.
Minimum 3-5 Years Of Experience In Immigration Law, Policies And Procedures.
Proficient Knowledge Of Federal And State Immigration Laws And Regulations.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With International Employees, Government Agencies, And University Departments.
Experience With Hris Systems And Ability To Maintain Accurate Immigration Records And Reports.
