Welcome to Duke University's Emergency Department at the Raleigh Campus! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Dept Tech I to join our team on a full-time basis. As an Emergency Dept Tech I, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our dynamic and fast-paced environment.   1. Provide exceptional patient care: The primary responsibility of the Emergency Dept Tech I will be to provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the emergency department.

  5. Monitor and maintain equipment: The Tech will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring equipment in the emergency department, ensuring that it is functioning properly and reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  6. Document and communicate patient information: The Tech will be responsible for accurately documenting patient information and communicating pertinent information to the healthcare team.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols: The Emergency Dept Tech I will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  8. Provide excellent customer service: The Tech will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and their families, making them feel comfortable and at ease during their time in the emergency department.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The Emergency Dept. Tech I Position At Duke University Requires A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Can Effectively Communicate And Follow Instructions.

  • Certification As A Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna): The Candidate Should Have A Current And Valid Certification As A Cna. This Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Completed A Recognized Training Program And Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Assist In Patient Care.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association. This Certification Is Necessary To Perform Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Is Required For All Healthcare Professionals.

  • Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In An Emergency Department Or Other Healthcare Setting Is Preferred. This Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Fast-Paced Environment Of An Emergency Department And Has Experience Handling Emergency Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Emergency Dept. Tech I Position Requires The Candidate To Interact With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Providing Quality Patient Care And Working Effectively Within A Team.
