Job Description

The Duke University Supply Chain Management team is looking for an experienced, motivated and dynamic Director to lead the Supply Chain Management Department. As the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain management process, from the procurement and supply of goods and services through to the delivery of those goods and services to the end customer. You will have extensive experience in the field of supply chain management, with an emphasis on developing and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, customers, and other key stakeholders. In addition, you will have a strong track record in driving improved supply chain efficiency and effectiveness. The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related field, and at least 5 years of progressive supply chain management experience. You should have a strong understanding of supply chain principles, coupled with an ability to develop, implement, and maintain processes to ensure efficient supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as a reputation for integrity and professionalism. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supply chain management and is driven to make a positive impact on Duke’s supply chain operations.

Duke University is a private research university in Durham, North Carolina. Founded by Methodists and Quakers in the present-day town of Trinity in 1838, the school moved to Durham in 1892. In 1924, tobacco and electric power industrialist James Buchanan Duke established The Duke Endowment and the institution changed its name to honor his deceased father, Washington Duke.
