  1. Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the need for cardiac devices and develop individualized treatment plans.
  2. Perform cardiac device implantation surgeries and ensure proper placement and functioning.
  3. Monitor and manage post-procedure care and follow-up appointments for patients with cardiac devices.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  5. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in cardiac device technology and procedures.
  6. Educate patients and their families on the proper use and maintenance of cardiac devices.
  7. Document all procedures, assessments, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures during procedures.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall patient experience.
  10. Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare professionals on cardiac device management and care.
  11. Maintain certifications and licenses required for the role.
  12. Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
  13. Attend conferences and continuing education programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
  14. Participate in research studies and clinical trials related to cardiac devices.
  15. Collaborate with insurance companies and assist with reimbursement issues for patients with cardiac devices.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Or Physiology.

  • Certification As A Cardiac Device Specialist (Ccds) From The International Board Of Heart Rhythm Examiners (Ibhre).

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Or Research Setting, Preferably In The Field Of Cardiac Devices.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Cardiac Anatomy, Physiology, And Electrophysiology.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Effectively Educate Patients On Cardiac Device Management.

Duke University is a private research university in Durham, North Carolina. Founded by Methodists and Quakers in the present-day town of Trinity in 1838, the school moved to Durham in 1892.
