Job Description

The Duke University Health System is seeking a highly organized and motivated Utilization Manager to join its team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring our utilization management program is effective and efficient, while also providing quality care to our patients. Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of utilization management, health care operations, and regulations, and is passionate about improving the health of our patients.The successful Utilization Manager must bring a combination of strong leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as an understanding of health care reimbursement methodologies and payer regulations. Additionally, they must be able to effectively collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders throughout the organization. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to deliver results in a timely manner. Responsibilities of the Utilization Manager:

  1. Manage utilization management program to ensure it is effective and efficient.
  2. Provide quality care to patients.
  3. Demonstrate strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  4. Maintain an understanding of health care reimbursement methodologies and payer regulations.
  5. Collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders throughout the organization.
  6. Ensure attention to detail and timely completion of tasks.
  7. Communicate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
  8. Monitor and analyze utilization trends.
  9. Develop and implement strategies for improving utilization management program.
  10. Train staff on utilization management policies and procedures.
