
Registered Sleep Technician
At Duke University Health System, we are seeking a Registered Sleep Technician to join our Sleep Lab team. The position requires a compassionate individual with a passion for providing quality care to patients, as well as the technical skills necessary to perform sleep studies and related activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service orientation and excellent problem-solving skills.The Registered Sleep Technician will be responsible for performing polysomnography and sleep-related diagnostic studies, helping diagnose and treat sleep disorders, and providing patient education and support. The technician must have the ability to work with a variety of patients, including those of all ages and with diverse backgrounds.This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of experience in a sleep lab setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will be a Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or will be eligible to take the exam within one year of hire. The candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent patient care and time management skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Perform polysomnography and sleep-related diagnostic studies to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
- Provide patient education and support.
- Work with a variety of patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Maintain patient records, data, and reports.
- Work independently and with a team.
- Maintain a strong customer service orientation.
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills.

- Possess excellent patient care and time management skills.
- Maintain certification as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or be eligible to take the exam within one year of hire.
