
Registered Sleep Technician
Duke University Health System is seeking an experienced, professional Registered Sleep Technician to join our Sleep Center team. In this role, you will work closely with patients in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related disorders. You will be responsible for setting up sleep studies, monitoring patients during sleep tests, and providing patient education.To be successful in this role, you must have an Associate's degree in Polysomnography or a related field and be a Registered Sleep Technician. In addition, you must have current CPR certification and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients during sleep tests and provide patient education.
- Set up sleep studies and provide technical assistance, as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of sleep study results and patient information.
- Ensure patient safety at all times.
- Oversee the operation of sleep lab equipment and keep up to date with new advances in the field.
- Follow proper safety procedures when handling hazardous materials.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare staff.
- Assist with the development of new policies and procedures, as needed.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
High School Diploma Or Ged
Graduate Of A Polysomnographic Program Accredited By The Commission On Accreditation Of Allied Health Education Programs (Caahep) Or The Committee On Accreditation Of Educational Programs For The Polysomnographic Technologist
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Credential From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt)
