
Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Nursery

- Provide specialized care to critically ill newborns in the Intensive Care Nursery.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Educate and support families on caring for their newborns, including breastfeeding, safe sleep practices, and managing any medical equipment or devices.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all patients by maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Document patient care and progress accurately and in a timely manner.
- Advocate for patients and families by communicating their needs and concerns to the healthcare team.
- Stay up-to-date on current best practices and advancements in neonatal care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional standards of practice and adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and regulations.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff members.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to coordinate and facilitate patient transfers and discharges.
- Continuously assess and reassess patient and family needs and provide emotional support and counseling as needed.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity when working with infants and their families.
Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree From An Accredited Institution.
Current And Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of North Carolina.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Registered Nurse In A Level Iii Or Level Iv Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu).
Current Certification In Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) And Basic Life Support (Bls).
Strong Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
