We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Recreation Therapist to join our Behavioral Health Inpatient team.   1. Develop and implement therapeutic recreational activities for patients in the Behavioral Health Inpatient unit.
  2. Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to create individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Conduct assessments to identify patient needs and interests, and use this information to plan appropriate recreational interventions.
  4. Lead group therapy sessions and facilitate group discussions to promote socialization and improve patients' coping skills.
  5. Provide one-on-one support and guidance to patients during recreational activities, promoting a safe and positive environment.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  7. Stay informed about current research and best practices in recreational therapy and incorporate new techniques and activities into treatment plans.
  8. Educate patients and their families on the benefits of recreational therapy and how it can support their overall mental health and well-being.
  9. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure the most effective outcomes.
  10. Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide opportunities for patients to continue recreational activities after discharge.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and professional standards in the field of recreational therapy.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
  13. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and improvement of the Behavioral Health Inpatient unit's programs and services.
  14. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients participating in recreational activities.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve personal skills and knowledge through continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Recreation Therapy Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs) Or Eligibility To Become Certified Within 6 Months Of Hire.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working In A Behavioral Health Inpatient Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Therapeutic Recreation Interventions And Their Application In A Behavioral Health Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Treatment Team And Communicate With Patients And Families.
