Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient Operations Pharmacy at Duke University Health System to join our team of professionals! The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for providing excellent customer service, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting the needs of our customers. This individual must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a desire to learn and grow in the field of pharmacy.We require a minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital pharmacy, a current North Carolina pharmacy technician license, and a pharmacy technician certification from a nationally accredited certification board. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.If you are looking to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families while working in a dynamic and progressive environment, then this is the job for you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide exceptional customer service to pharmacy customers
  2. Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when completing pharmacy tasks
  3. Effectively communicate with customers and providers regarding their medication needs
  4. Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
  5. Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  6. Follow all state and federal guidelines and regulations for pharmacy operations
  7. Assist with training new pharmacy staff members
  8. Process and fill prescription orders accurately and efficiently
  9. Utilize automated systems to complete pharmacy tasks
  10. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Ged

  • Previous Experience In A Hospital Pharmacy Setting

  • Active Certification With The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or Equivalent

  • Working Knowledge Of Medication Safety And Sterile Compounding

  • Demonstrated Ability To Work Effectively With A Multidisciplinary Team

  • Ability To Problem Solve And Make Decisions With Minimal Supervision
