Job Description

At Duke University Health System, we are looking for a Pediatric Psychiatrist and Behavioral Health Specialist who is passionate about helping children and families. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care, an interest in working in an interdisciplinary team, and a focus on providing the highest quality of care.We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric psychiatrist with experience in the treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric illnesses, behavioral health, and mood disorders in children and adolescents. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated record of providing excellent clinical care and a commitment to the communities we serve. We are looking for someone who is eager to pursue academic and clinical excellence, and who is dedicated to advancing the field of pediatric psychiatry and behavioral health.The successful candidate will have completed an accredited residency program in psychiatry and have a valid medical license in the state of North Carolina. Additionally, they will have experience with the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric psychiatric conditions and will be familiar with evidence-based treatments. They should possess excellent communication and collaboration skills and be comfortable working with a variety of disciplines, including primary care providers, psychologists, and social workers. The ideal candidate will also bring a deep understanding of the unique needs of pediatric patients and families.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide exceptional and compassionate patient care to pediatric patients and their families with acute and chronic psychiatric illnesses, behavioral health, and mood disorders.
  2. Diagnose and treat pediatric psychiatric conditions using evidence-based treatments.
  3. Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the field of pediatric psychiatry and behavioral health.
  4. Maintain a valid medical license in the state of North Carolina.
  5. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of providers, including primary care providers, psychologists, and social workers.
  6. Participate in and contribute to academic and clinical excellence initiatives.
  7. Ensure that all care is provided in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  8. Provide support and guidance to families in crisis.
  9. Participate in community outreach programs to educate and raise awareness about pediatric mental health.
