- Perform advanced vitreoretinal surgeries on both pediatric and adult patients with a variety of complex conditions.
- Utilize cutting-edge medical technology and techniques to diagnose and treat vitreoretinal disorders.
- Collaborate with other members of the Ophthalmology Department to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
- Provide compassionate and personalized care to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and research in the field of vitreoretinal surgery and incorporate them into practice.
- Comply with all ethical and safety standards in patient care and surgical procedures.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Work closely with the administrative team to ensure efficient scheduling and coordination of surgeries.
- Mentor and supervise residents and fellows in the Ophthalmology Department.
- Participate in research studies and clinical trials to contribute to the advancement of the field.
- Collaborate with referring physicians and specialists to provide seamless and comprehensive care for patients.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and documentation.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Duke University Health System.
Medical Degree: The Candidate Must Have Completed A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Residency Training: The Candidate Must Have Completed A Residency Program In Ophthalmology And Be Board-Certified Or Eligible For Board Certification By The American Board Of Ophthalmology.
Fellowship Training: The Candidate Must Have Completed A Fellowship Program In Pediatric And Adult Vitreoretinal Surgery And Have Specialized Training In The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Vitreoretinal Conditions In Both Children And Adults.
Licensure: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Medical License To Practice In The State Of North Carolina Or Be Eligible For Licensure By The Time Of Hire.
Experience: The Candidate Must Have A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience As A Practicing Vitreoretinal Surgeon, With A Strong Track Record Of Successful Outcomes And A High Level Of Proficiency In Surgical Techniques And Procedures. Experience Working In An Academic Medical Center Is Preferred.
