
Ophthalmic Technician
The Duke University Health System is searching for an outstanding Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As a critical member of our team, the successful candidate will provide direct care to patients in ophthalmology. Our ideal candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of ophthalmology. The Ophthalmic Technician must be a compassionate and patient individual with excellent communication skills.The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least one year of experience in ophthalmology or a related field. Certification in ophthalmic assistant or technician training is preferred. The Ophthalmic Technician must have a valid driver’s license, as this individual may be required to travel to various sites.We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working with patients and providing excellent care. The Ophthalmic Technician must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable adapting to changing situations. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to ophthalmology patients.
- Maintain a high degree of organization, detail-orientation, and understanding of ophthalmology.
- Demonstrate compassion and patience towards patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in ophthalmology or related field.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, as travel to various sites may be required.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable adapting to changing situations.
- Possess certification in ophthalmic assistant or technician training (preferred).
- Maintain a commitment to patient care and a drive to make a difference.
