Job Description

If so, Duke University Health System is looking for you to join our team as an Ophthalmic Photographer.We are seeking a talented and dedicated individual to capture high-quality images of the eye and its structures for diagnostic and treatment purposes. As an Ophthalmic Photographer, you will play a crucial role in helping our physicians accurately diagnose and treat eye conditions.To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of two years of experience in ophthalmic photography and be familiar with a variety of imaging techniques and equipment.   1. Capture high-quality images of the eye and its structures using a variety of imaging techniques and equipment.
  2. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to accurately diagnose and treat eye conditions.
  3. Maintain knowledge of current ophthalmic photography techniques and equipment.
  4. Ensure proper setup and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and ensure their comfort during imaging.
  6. Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  7. Document and maintain accurate records of all images taken.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of images.
  9. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and escalate to appropriate personnel.
  10. Attend and actively participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in ophthalmic photography techniques and equipment.
  11. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  12. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  13. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve the delivery of ophthalmic imaging services.
  15. Assist with the training and mentoring of new ophthalmic photography staff.
  16. Adhere to all Duke University Health System policies and procedures.
  17. Continuously strive for excellence in all aspects of ophthalmic photography.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Photography, Healthcare Or Related Field.

  • Certified Ophthalmic Photographer (Coa Or Cot) Through The Ophthalmic Photographers' Society (Ops).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As An Ophthalmic Photographer In A Clinical Or Research Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Ophthalmic Anatomy, Physiology And Diseases.

  • Proficient In Using Ophthalmic Imaging Equipment Such As Fundus Cameras, Oct Machines And Slit Lamps.
