  1. Conduct thorough assessments and examinations of patients with spine fractures to develop individualized treatment plans.
  2. Collaborate with neurosurgeons and other specialists to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  3. Utilize advanced knowledge and skills to perform procedures and interventions for the management of spine fractures.
  4. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  5. Educate patients and their families on treatment options, potential risks and benefits, and post-operative care.
  6. Document all patient interactions, procedures, and treatments accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records.
  7. Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
  8. Stay current with advancements in neurosurgery and spine fracture treatment through ongoing education and training.
  9. Adhere to all regulatory and institutional policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  11. Act as a resource and mentor for other staff members, including nurses and physician assistants.
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development through participation in conferences, workshops, and other learning opportunities.
  13. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following infection control protocols and promoting patient safety.
  14. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by actively contributing to team meetings and discussions.
  15. Represent the Neurosurgery APP Comprehensive Spine Fracture Clinic and Duke University Health System in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Physician Assistant Studies Or Nurse Practitioner Studies From An Accredited Program.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Neurosurgery Or Orthopedic Surgery, With A Focus On Spine Fracture Management.

  • Certification As An Advanced Practice Provider (App) In The State Of North Carolina.

  • Experience In Conducting Comprehensive Evaluations, Ordering And Interpreting Diagnostic Tests, And Developing Treatment Plans For Patients With Spine Fractures.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
