- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient samples according to established protocols and procedures in the Transfusion Services department
- Prepare and analyze blood products for compatibility testing and transfusion, ensuring accuracy and safety for patients
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results
- Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures and results, adhering to regulatory standards and guidelines
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of laboratory supplies and reagents
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate test results for patient care
- Adhere to quality control and quality assurance measures to ensure accuracy and precision of results
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on new techniques and technologies in laboratory science
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Serve as a resource and mentor for other laboratory staff and students in the department.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) From A Recognized Accrediting Organization
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory, Preferably In A Transfusion Service Setting
Knowledge And Understanding Of Blood Bank Procedures, Transfusion Medicine, And Quality Control Processes
Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment And Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
