As a Medical Lab Scientist in our Transfusion Services department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and accuracy of blood transfusions for our patients.   • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient samples according to established protocols and procedures in the Transfusion Services department
  • Prepare and analyze blood products for compatibility testing and transfusion, ensuring accuracy and safety for patients
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures and results, adhering to regulatory standards and guidelines
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of laboratory supplies and reagents
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate test results for patient care
  • Adhere to quality control and quality assurance measures to ensure accuracy and precision of results
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on new techniques and technologies in laboratory science
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for other laboratory staff and students in the department.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) From A Recognized Accrediting Organization

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory, Preferably In A Transfusion Service Setting

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Blood Bank Procedures, Transfusion Medicine, And Quality Control Processes

  • Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment And Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
