
Medical Lab Scientist - Cytogenetics
As a Medical Lab Scientist - Cytogenetics at Duke University Health System, you will have the opportunity to join a world-renowned healthcare organization and use your expertise in cytogenetics to make a real impact on patient care. Reporting to the Cytogenetic Supervisor, you will use your knowledge of medical laboratory science principles, techniques, and procedures to perform complex cytogenetic and molecular genetic testing and interpret results. You must be comfortable working independently and in a team environment.In order to be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field and ASCP certification. Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred. You must also possess excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. You must be highly detail-oriented and have the ability to accurately interpret complex data. Furthermore, you must be committed to providing the highest level of patient care and be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex cytogenetic and molecular genetic testing and interpret results.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when interpreting complex data.
- Adhere to the highest standards of patient care.
- Maintain effective communication with the Cytogenetic Supervisor and other staff members.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and materials in accordance with established protocols.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new protocols and processes.
- Remain up-to-date on new developments in the field of cytogenetics and molecular genetics.
- Ensure that all laboratory results are accurately recorded and documented.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Bachelor's Degree In A Biological Science Or Related Field
