Mammography Technologist

The Duke University Health System is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Our ideal candidate will be an attentive individual with an eye for detail and a commitment to providing the highest quality care to our patients. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, allowing them to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers. In addition, they must possess all of the necessary certifications and qualifications to perform mammography procedures. To be successful in this role, the Mammography Technologist must possess the following qualifications:

Responsibilities:

1. Perform mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols.
2. Follow safety guidelines when operating equipment and administering radiation.
3. Explain the procedure to patients, and ensure their comfort throughout the examination.
4. Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images.
5. Ensure all images are properly labeled, stored, and transmitted to physicians.
6. Maintain records and documentation of examinations.
7. Provide patient education regarding mammography procedures and results.
8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
9. Adhere to all relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
10. Keep current with advances in mammography technology and techniques.
