  1. Administer Infusion Treatments: The Infusion Nurse will be responsible for administering various infusion treatments to patients in their homes. This includes preparing and administering medications, monitoring IV lines, and ensuring proper dosages.
  2. Ensure Patient Safety and Well-being: The Infusion Nurse must prioritize patient safety and well-being by closely monitoring vital signs, assessing for any adverse reactions, and following proper infection control protocols.
  3. Provide High-Quality Care: The primary responsibility of the Infusion Nurse is to provide high-quality care to patients in their homes. This includes following established protocols and procedures, documenting patient progress, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
  4. Educate Patients and Families: The Infusion Nurse will be responsible for educating patients and their families on the infusion treatment process, potential side effects, and proper care and maintenance of IV lines and equipment.
  5. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: The Infusion Nurse will work closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients. This includes communicating any changes in patient condition and collaborating on treatment plans.
  6. Maintain Accurate Records: It is the responsibility of the Infusion Nurse to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, medication administration, and progress notes.
  7. Adhere to Policies and Procedures: The Infusion Nurse must adhere to all policies and procedures set by Duke University Health System, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure safe and ethical practices.
  8. Continuously Improve Skills and Knowledge: The Infusion Nurse is expected to stay current with industry developments, attend training and education sessions, and continuously improve their skills and knowledge to provide the best care possible.
  9. Demonstrate Compassion and Empathy: As a nurse in the home care setting, the Infusion Nurse must demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families. This includes being sensitive to their needs and providing emotional support during difficult times.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License In The State Of North Carolina.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Home Infusion Therapy.

  • Certification In Infusion Therapy (Crni) Preferred.

  • Proficient In Iv Insertion And Management Of Central Lines.

  • Strong Communication And Patient Education Skills.
