  1. Prepare and analyze tissue samples for accurate and timely diagnosis of diseases.
  2. Perform routine and specialized histology procedures, including embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting of tissue samples.
  3. Operate and maintain histology equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
  4. Adhere to strict laboratory protocols and safety regulations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of results.
  5. Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss and interpret test results.
  6. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and results.
  7. Keep up-to-date with new techniques and technology in the field of histology to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  8. Assist in the training and supervision of other histology staff as needed.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers, addressing any concerns or questions promptly and professionally.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the handling and processing of patient samples.
  12. Participate in quality control and assurance activities to ensure accuracy and precision of results.
  13. Contribute to research projects and initiatives within the department.
  14. Attend relevant conferences and workshops to stay current with industry developments and advancements.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Or Related Field.

  • Certification As A Histotechnologist (Htl) From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Surgical Pathology Laboratory Setting.

  • Proficiency In Performing A Variety Of Tissue Processing Techniques, Including Fixation, Embedding, Sectioning, And Staining.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Histological Terminology And Ability To Accurately Interpret And Report Findings.
