- Maintain accurate and complete medical records for patients in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Organize and manage the storage and retrieval of medical records.
- Review and process requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, and other authorized individuals.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all medical records.
- Monitor and update patient information in electronic health record systems.
- Work closely with healthcare providers and other staff to ensure accurate and timely record keeping.
- Assist with audits and quality assurance initiatives to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide support to other healthcare staff in retrieving and accessing medical records.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues with medical records.
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to medical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff regarding medical records and related concerns.
- Participate in training and education programs to stay current on best practices and industry developments.
- Utilize electronic health record systems and other technology effectively to manage and maintain medical records.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to improve processes and enhance patient care.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Associate's Degree Or Higher In Health Information Management Or Related Field.
Certified As A Registered Health Information Technician (Rhit) Or Ability To Obtain Certification Within 6 Months Of Hire.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Him Role.
Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Coding Systems (E.g. Icd-10, Cpt).
Proficient In Electronic Health Record Systems And Computer Skills, Including Microsoft Office.
