  1. Perform diagnostic evaluations and interpretations of hematologic and lymphoid disorders using various laboratory techniques and technologies.
  2. Provide expert consultation to other healthcare professionals and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans for patients.
  3. Participate in research projects and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of Hematopathology.
  4. Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in the principles and practices of Hematopathology.
  5. Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives within the Hematopathology department.
  6. Stay updated on the latest developments, techniques, and technologies in the field of Hematopathology through continuing education and professional development activities.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all laboratory procedures and patient results.
  8. Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective workflow and troubleshoot any technical issues.
  9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe working environment for staff and patients.
  10. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to Hematopathology services.
  11. Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and actively participate in professional organizations and conferences.
  12. Represent the Hematopathology department in institutional committees and meetings.
  13. Provide excellent patient care and communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding test results and treatment plans.
  14. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the practice of Hematopathology.
  15. Contribute to the overall mission and goals of Duke University Health System through participation in institutional initiatives and projects.

Job Qualifications
  • Md Or Do Degree From An Accredited Medical School

  • Board Certification In Anatomic And Clinical Pathology And Hematopathology

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Academic Hematopathology

  • Strong Record Of Scholarly Activity, Including Publications In High-Impact Journals And Presentations At National Conferences

  • Demonstrated Commitment To Teaching And Mentoring Students, Residents, And Fellows
