  1. Prepare and produce food items according to established recipes and portion sizes.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and labeling of food products.
  3. Monitor and maintain food safety standards, including proper temperature control and sanitation procedures.
  4. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and timely production of meals.
  5. Communicate any food quality or safety concerns to management immediately.
  6. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  7. Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies and rotating food products.
  8. Adhere to dietary restrictions and special requests for patients and staff.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in food production processes and procedures.
  11. Attend and participate in training and educational programs related to food safety and production.
  12. Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and developments in food production and health and wellness.
  13. Contribute to a positive team dynamic and work collaboratively with other departments.
  14. Adhere to all Duke University Health System policies and procedures.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Food Production: Candidates Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Food Production Setting, Such As A Commercial Kitchen Or Food Manufacturing Facility. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Food Safety Regulations, Food Preparation Techniques, And Equipment Operation.

  • Culinary Education And/Or Certifications: While Not Required, Candidates With A Culinary Degree Or Relevant Certifications, Such As Servsafe, Will Be Given Preference. This Indicates A Strong Understanding Of Food Production Principles And Safety Protocols.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Food Production Associate Will Be Responsible For Preparing And Serving Meals To A Large Number Of Patients, Visitors, And Staff. This Requires The Ability To Work Efficiently And Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Attention To Detail: Food Safety Is Of The Utmost Importance In A Healthcare Setting, So Candidates Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure That All Meals Are Prepared And Served According To Safety Protocols And Dietary Restrictions.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Food Production Associate Will Work Closely With Other Members Of The Food Service Team, As Well As Nurses And Other Healthcare Professionals. Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Ensuring A Smooth And Efficient Operation.
