Fire and Life Safety Manager

1. Develop and implement fire and life safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Conduct regular inspections and audits of all Duke University Health System facilities to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with fire and life safety standards.
3. Collaborate with other departments and teams to develop emergency response plans and procedures in the event of a fire or other life-threatening situations.
4. Train and educate employees on fire and life safety best practices, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of fire safety equipment.
5. Serve as the primary point of contact for all fire and life safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees, patients, and visitors.
6. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in fire and life safety regulations and technologies, and make recommendations for improvement and implementation within the organization.
7. Conduct investigations and root cause analyses of any fire incidents or safety violations, and develop corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
8. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all fire and life safety-related activities, including inspections, trainings, and incident reports.
9. Coordinate with local fire and safety officials to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
10. Prepare and present reports to senior management on the status of fire and life safety measures and any identified areas for improvement.
11. Collaborate with the Facilities Management team to ensure that all fire safety systems, equipment, and infrastructure are properly maintained and functioning.
12. Act as a liaison between Duke University Health System and external fire and safety agencies, as well as participate in fire and life safety committees and organizations.
