Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Clinical Technician - Specimen Processing to join the team at Duke University Health System. This position requires a high standard of professionalism and an unwavering commitment to patient care. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong knowledge of laboratory safety procedures.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in specimen processing and handling, and a thorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols. A diploma or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field is preferred, as well as a valid certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel, or the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.We invite you to join our team and become a valued member of the Duke University Health System family.

Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
  2. Prepare samples for laboratory testing and analysis.
  3. Accurately record and document patient data and results.
  4. Monitor and maintain laboratory quality control standards.
  5. Manage specimen processing and handling in a timely and efficient manner.
  6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and procedures.
  7. Troubleshoot issues with specimen processing and handling.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure patient care and safety.
  9. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  10. Participate in continuing education and training activities to stay abreast of the latest trends in laboratory science.
