
Clinical Technician - Pediatric Phlebotomy
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Technician - Pediatric Phlebotomy to join our team at Duke University Health System. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and accurately collecting blood samples from children in a manner that minimizes discomfort and anxiety. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working with pediatric populations, a strong knowledge of medical terminology, and excellent customer service skills. Responsibilities:
- Perform pediatric phlebotomy procedures in a safe and accurate manner
- Maintain a high standard of customer service while interacting with patients and families
- Understand and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to blood collection
- Ensure the accuracy of patient data and documentation related to blood collection
- Maintain and organize laboratory supplies and equipment
- Utilize strong knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to pediatric phlebotomy procedures
- Provide emotional support to children and families during stressful or challenging situations
- Review patient medical records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information
- Monitor and record the condition of patients before, during, and after blood collection
- Stay current with best practices in pediatric phlebotomy and related procedures
High School Diploma Or Equivalent
Medical Assistant Certification Or Equivalent Experience
Previous Experience In Phlebotomy
Knowledge Of Pediatric Phlebotomy Techniques
Experience With Pediatric Patients
Good Communication And Organizational Skills
Basic Computer Skills
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment.
